- This site is devoted to all those interested in understanding why there is hurt and strained relationships when family members are recruited into any of the countless “cultish” religious organisations around the world.
- The Concerned Parents Group based in Hillcrest, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa want to share their experiences about one such “cultish” group – CTMI (Church Team Ministries International) – based in Mauritius. As well as their church in Durban, South Africa – Grace Gospel Church. (GGC). (As per most research on cultish organisations – they change their names because they ineveitably attract negative publicity and their name becomes tainted. The South African Churches are now called Bridgeway Family Church) We hope this will help prevent others going through similar experiences.
- Our ten years of research has led us to understand that all such groups have very similar characteristics.
- A common experience for us all was that these groups tend to present initially as positive, pleasant, passionate, loving and good for our young adult children. Our eyes were only opened when it was too late.
- Please click on whatever interests you in the “Evaluating CTMI” Menu above. You will find layers of detail. The first layer is the bare minimum of information. If you want more information you can click at the end of the summary for journal articles by experts, presentations at international conferences, more detailed analysis by our members and even a Masters Thesis.
- As of 2024, after 15 years of research, we have ceased adding further information. We recently received the following query via this site. Here it is with our reply:
Is CTMI stoll an issue? THOS SOTE DOES NOT APPEr to have mu h son e 2018
Our Reply:
Dear Katherine
Thank you for your query.
We think you are asking if CTMI is still an issue because there is no “new” information on our website. Previous updates in this document were in 2022 not 2018 as you seem to indicate.
We have stopped adding new information as we believe there is enough to establish the entrenched patterns.
Yes CTMI is still an issue. We have had a number of folks contacting us over the last few years with extremely similar stories.
Our appeal over many years has been – “please apologise for the issues raised OR prove us wrong.” Neither has happened.
Thank you again for your query.
Unfortunately, the address was a temporary one and no longer exists – so we could not reply. (This happens fairly frequently from obviously CTMI sources –
the sadly typical refusal to engage)
